I had an interview which lasted 15 minutes for an Information Officer in the Citizens Information on Tuesday. I have not heard back since. Assume I didn't get the job?

Well, it has only been 2 days but 15 minutes does sound a bit short to me. I'd expect it to last 30 mins at least.

I suspect they were just ticking boxes and the job was already gone.

I've interviewed hundreds of people and if I killed an interview after 15 minutes it's because I know they're definitely not getting the job.

    Sorry...

Were you given an indication as to when they would get back to you?

If not, then a good tip for the future would be always asking about this before leaving the interview. That said, you unfortunately hear about more and more companies who simply renege on such a commitment in any case ...

    Sorry...

I got the letter today, you were right, didn't get the job.

However, they said my application and interview was of 'Very high standard'?

    :pac:

That kind of means nothing really...

    No need to be rude.

I don't think there was any intention at all to be rude.

Such a phrase can be a fairly standard default response, and you should not necessarily take it to mean anything really.

Still, at least they went to the trouble of coming back to you one way or the other.
