    Hi there,

I have the opportunity to buy a refurbished laptop from my workplace. Looking for something basic enough (MS Office, general browsing, YouTube, occasionally Netfix and the likes).

    There’s two options:

[*]Dell e5530 15.6” laptops with Core i5 cpu, 8Gb Ram and 320gb hdd (370 EUR)
      [*]Dell e6430 14.1” Core i3 , 8Gb Ram and 500gb hard drive (350 EUR)

      Both 2-3 years old.

Would any of these be a decent purchase? Anything better out there?

      Thanks, Bosupe.

There is no way they are only 2-3 years old. More like 5-6 years old. These laptops were released in 2012 and should be running 3rd generation intel i5 processors.

I actually think the prices are a bit rich all considered. You have to consider that the batteries in these probably don't last as long as they should, and they'd not be the fastest machines around. Although fine for your usage.

Agree with others over priced and older i bought a Dell E5420 last year for 100 with 3 month warranty on adverts still working today upgraded ram and hard drive and its great.
I would look elsewhere for these are too much and older then stated.

You could get this instead although hard drive is smaller you didnt say you needed space as the computer you are looking at dont have big drives in them.
It has SSD so should be really fast in comparison and full warranty with this also.

€370 for a refurb and not even a SSD in sight?
Overpriced. Expect the batteries to be poor.

I got a Tosh Portege i7 with SSD from ebay a year ago for £150. Now this is an old machine but I have plenty of spare parts/batteries already. It would still smash any new mid range laptop.
