Can’t seem to find a job. Any reliable recommendations?

I can’t seem to find a job. I’ve tried online and local job searches. The last response I got was from a foreign job website but they stopped replying after I sent the requirements they needed from me like an updated resume, cover letter, etc. Can anyone give me any reliable recommendations where I can apply for jobs online? That would really help me out. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your struggles man. I was unemployed for almost 5 years before I found my last job and worked my way through to the highest level within my department, so there's definitely hope.

I recommend indeed.ie as a resource for jobseeking. It's where I found that job and pretty much every job in Ireland is on it.

I recently was made redundant and found my new job there also. That said, I went to the recruitment agency for the position and had a chat with them and even though I didn't fit the description (degree and foreign language required, I have neither), they put me forward for the job and I was successful in my application.

Don't be put off by not having the requirements for a job, go talk to the company or the recruitment agency and sell your experience if you think that a job would be a good fit for you and you would be competent in the role.

Best of luck in your endeavours man.

    What age are you?

What area are you looking for work in?

    Do you have previous experience?

Have you had someone check your cv and your cover letter for any spelling errors?

HAve you been to a career specialist who could check your cv for suitability / to ensure that you are selling your best self?

I was out of work for about a year before I found the job I am currently in. Good luck

You have to be prepared to look for the unadvertised jobs.
Get your CV professionally done, do your research and decide on businesses YOU want to work for then get kitted out in work attire and go in confidently with your CV and ask to speak with the manager.

What industry are you looking to go into ? If you have no previous job experience then you're best best is probably retail, food or hospitality.

I was out of a job for about 4 months there recently, by the end of it I was getting about two interviews a week, what I suggest is finding a few different industries you'd like to get into and have a look online.

Spend at least half an hour making a cover letter for each different industry to use as a general template and tailor your CV to each job type.

I find Jobbio is good for the "carpetbomb" approach to jobhunting because you make your profile and just have to hit apply.

Most job postings have a few requirements and duties listed use those to base your cover letter off of if youre really interested in the role i.e "my experience in x would mean I would be great at y" ( remember leaving cert english: make a point, quote the job listing and explain)

Again if youre really interested in a role, see if the job is posted directly on their website they may look through those applications first.

That's all I can think of now but if I can think of any more tips ill post them Ive been unemployed for a long time so I know it can be mind numbing but hang in there, keep a good routine and use your free time to develop yourself, you'll miss it when you get that job !
