Can’t decide between the GoPro Hero 5 or the Insta360 1. Do you helpful folks have any thoughts?

Apologies. Half asleep when I posted.

So I am looking for a travel camera that both records and does standard photos.

I want to record my adventures to share, at the very least with family. I will be doing a mix of things from standard city trips and the things associated with them, to bungee jumping and other extreme things

For those purposes I'd lean towards a go pro session. The left over budget will allow you to get a tripod stick, floaty and POV mount.

If you want slow motion, I'd go for the hero 5, but if you aren't into editing and creative work then don't bother.

If vlogging or talking to camera is your thing I'd be inclined to go for a mirrorless camera system with hotshoe mount, microphone input, stability control and changable batteries.

If you want stills - use your phone. Itll be better than either.

After that the session is nice but needs a refresh unfortunately. Been waiting for GP to release a new one for a while now. If they'd drop that already it'd be perfect.

I have a feeling GoPro will be going out of business or bought up by someone pretty soon. We might not see any new cameras.

Having read this and looked into it a bit I am now toying with the idea of going for the Panasonic Lumix GX800
