    Morning all.

Could I ask a couple of questions about the Fibre Rollout map at https://fibrerollout.ie/?

    1. It hasn't been updated since the end of May, will this be done soon?

    2. Will the houses contained within the green availability circles also be getting FTTH (generally speaking) or is it just the individual houses shown on the map outside of those areas.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Xithus,

Unfortunately, we do not have an information regarding when the Fibre Rollout map will be updated, I am sure it will be updated soon.

    Thanks

    Thomas

    1) The past few updates have been two months apart. I would expect an update this week or next. However that map is not to be relied upon for availability. It gives a decent guide on whether you may be covered but to see if the service is available you should really be checking your Eircode on:

    https://www.eir.ie/broadband/1000mb-fibre/

    2) Generally speaking no, the houses inside the green circles will not be getting FTTH, at least as part of this current rollout. The homes inside the circles are supposed yo be covered by FTTC. However the circles have been rather crudely drawn with 1KM radius from each exchange or cabinet. Unfortunately in the real world coverage does not work like that and many homes inside the circles can not receive the 30Mb minimum mandated by the National Broadband Plan.

If you find yourself inside a green circle and are not receiving 30Mb over a wired connection email Broadband@DCCAE.gov.ie with your details to have your premises added to the NBP.

Hi all, fibre is in my area but my house is not marked to avail of it. 2 houses approx 200 metres from are with new poles connecting my house to there's. Is there any chance I can avail, it would mean a new fibre line along the existing poles to a junction box serving me and 2 other houses. Are the houses that are marked on the map the ones getting it and no exceptions.Any answers greatly appreciated.

I got confirmation that the cabinet in my area has been upgraded, how can I find out when I can get it to my house?
