probably means the private use element.

same way as most people put the family car on the insurance policy or the full ESB and telephone bill etc and maybe health insurance

Into my third year doing a bit myself and not a penny taken yet. Last year i would have said that I'd take something out next year 2019 but now i reckon will be at least 2020. Thats if SFP is still worth something.
Could take money out of it but its all about improving the place at the moment.

I wonder if fellow put there SFP and glas, disadvantage ect, in to a savings account and don't touch it, and then let the farm run on the current account it would give a true picture of how profitable farming is

Every one should take the minimum wage .if you work 20 hours a week take 200 or 15 hrs take 150 etc .
Other wise your a fool .
The farm should pay its way .otherwise your working for the hawks in the vans .

I thought this thread was gonna be good when I saw the little guy was banned. Alas, not so.
Maybe Buford banned him for dissing the Kerry footballers.

ah right i see now what you guys mean. jesus i keep my parents house going and myself from the farm. i never gave thought of not taking money for whatever i need. i pay the basics of running the house then health insurance ( which is an absolute killer! pardon the pun, €500 a month) but im getting a review of that done, might change companies.any rainy day jobs i take from farm too such as dental work etc.there once every few years though. after that i just have a few drinks at the weekend and head to galway races maybe another weekend away somewhere over the year, nothing major. so the farm has to keep a family to be honset and thank god it does. please god always will. dont know if i would have the interest in farming if it wasnt paying me a decent net profit each year. i love farming but i dont think i would do it if it was loss making

Full time farm here, way I work it is farm sales cover all farm costs plus tax.dont count depreciation then subsidys are my income works out average industry wadge.if cattle prices go down then I'm screwed as sfp has to support farm costs as no other income and costs are pretty tightly watched but touch wood so far so good.

Should it not be how much of your income does the farm take from you?
