Washing machine drum bent

    Hey everyone,

Just got back from hols to put on a wash. Noticed my drum was really stiff when I tried to spin it by hand, normally it spins with ease even when I have a load in.

I looked inside and notice a big dent in the drum. Took a picture so I hope I can figure out how to upload it.

The drum doesn't make new weird noises and I tested it by putting it on a slow spin while empty and it stated to spin reluctantly but I stopped it after a few seconds.

Anyone know what would cause the dent? The drum also is out of place because there is a gap between it and the rubber seal.

My boyfriend was the last one to use it and didn't notice any bangs.

Machine is kind of crappy anyway and after checking online I think the weights may need to be tightened also.

Please help as we are renting, thanks!

for that to happen something has got in between the outer tub and the drum, if the drum is stiff to rotate whatever is in there will have to be removed which is often difficult as most of the outer tubs are glued together. its not really a diy job unless you are very handy, the procedure then would be remove the heating element and sump hose and try fish it out with a fish wire . the dent shouldn't matter unless it has a rough edge
