Holidays for newly single man

Hi all,

just wondering if any of you had any ideas for single people like myself who want to go on a foreign trip as a single but with a group.

I have travelled alone before but just want some company this time with like minded people. I've done the full scuba diving course and maybe that would be an option but I don't want to feel an outsider on a club trip.

I'm open to anything whether it's photography or painting (as a beginner) but really anything that is group included or that Im a part of a group. In fairness I'm just looking for a bit of company and don't mind so long as theres a bit of crack in the evening.

I'm in my forties and don't really fancy long walks or biking but would enjoy the social side of things without going too Ibiza.

It's difficult when you find yourself unattached.

The reason I'm writing in the Gentlemans Forum is because I think recently single people find it hard to go anywhere when they're on their own.

Any ideas welcome.

I have heard good things about GAP. I googled them but all I could find was G Adventures, which has the same setup, with travel in groups. I presume that they rebranded.

Personally I’ve used G-Adventures a few times and have had great experiences and used flash pack once and also had a great time, flash pack cater towards 30 & 40 yr old professionals and is generally all solo travellers where as the others might not be all solo. The added bonus is most the trips tend to have a higher percentage of female than male guests.

I've gone on several Classic trips with Gadventures. Had a ball on every trip, they have options for single travellers to either share a room or pay extra for your own room. There were both single travellers and couples travelling. They go to plenty to places and have different types of trips.

My problem now is that there is so many places to go but funds and annual leave have me restricted.

I travel a LOT (woman of a similar age group)

Travelled with all of these more than once. GAP rebranded to lose the "GAP year "tag.

Only back from an amazing 18 day trip with Intrepid.

Would Not recommend Flash Pack at all.

Exodus were ok.

There's pluses and minuses of travelling with each.

The mix of the group will depend on the trip.eg, if you pick something Amalfi coast, it will be an older group.

I’m curious as to why you wouldn’t recommend Flash Pack?
