access to Eir Sport on mobile

    Yesterday I switched to Eir Mobile after reading the ad below on the Eir website. 
    I have downloaded the app but when I attempt to log in it tells me I am not eligible?  
    Can't understand why as according to the website I can get access on a mobile device simply by switching to Eir mobile?

    My girlfriend is Eir Mobile, out of interest I tried logging via Eir Sports app and also with http://live.eirsport.ie

    Same problem. One says account is not eligible, while website says password is not correct even though same password logs in on the main Eir page to check account.

    I did and they say access to Eir sport is not given unless you purchase a phone, i.e. not for SIM only plans. I cannot see this stated anywhere on the website so looks very much like false advertising to me?

    I believe Eir have changed all of their plans this week. That could be the reason why it didn't work before, but now it should. We are probably sitting on old plan which wasn't supported, so likely we have to move from the legacy plan to the new one to get free Eir sports.

    Hi there gkp1

    RobbiePAX is correct. eir Sport is now available on all new mobile plans, including SIMO. For all legacy plans that previously did not quality for eir Sport this will still be the case so if you would like this feature, just call 1901 and get them to move you onto one of our new plans
