If your father dies before her she will be entitled to at least one third of the estate. Also she will be entitled to any Credit Union funds up to 25000 I think unless he has changed his nominated person AFTER the marriage.
I advise getting this sorted out before he dies otherwise she will do very well.
Of course the same applies if she dies first

Think the query is more, Would she have some claim now? Given that they are married and it was her primary residence for several years. Even though the father owned the house outright before he met her and she made no financial contribution to the house.

Not helpful. This is a discussion forum. Curring of discussion on any issue by saying. "See a professional" is pretty useless.

Basically she has a claim on everything that only a judge will decide what that is unless they go for mediation with there solicitors and reach agreement
    Are they legally separated
Has she actually asked for anything

Is good advice. This doesn't stop anyone discussing the issue but it's still the best advice
