I have just had failed settlement talks in the four courts and will have to go to court a year from now, I am worried about the costs and the time this is taking out of mine and my children's lives.
Any advice. I am not entitled to legal aid.

It really depends on what both parties want from the settlement. It's like horse trading for want of a better word and every case is differant.
Look at what is important to you and or your children of any and be honest sometimes you have to give up something to gain on something else.
