sony mp3 not syncing

I bought a new sony NWE394 mp3 player....i had the previous model....when I go to sync the music off media player onto the mp3.....the majority of songs will not sync....I can't see why as these songs have all been synced in the same way onto my old one. Any help much appreciated.
