    Hi,
I hope this is the right forum and someone here can guide me in the right direction.
My career is in an international industry and I work away most of the year, I would like to change companies and I am hearing more and more about these ATS systems for shortlisting applicants as there are alot of applications for jobs at present.
I would like to know how you test your CV to see if it is good for these systems and how to get my CV to be shortlisted (at least to a stage where a human looks at it)without breaking the bank.
I got a quote for a $1500 off an online company to do this and I paid about E150 to get my CV re-done but I didn't get a single reply to it after applying for 50/60 jobs.
    Cheers

Most of these systems are still manual. For example, Jobs.ie staff have a quick look at your CV and either forward it to the employer or put it in the rejected pile.

All the other systems (automated) are either rule based or machine learning.

The rule based systems are pretty basic. Look at your IP address to see if you're within the country, look for certain keywords, etc.

The machine learning systems almost always require you to make an online CV with the website. So basically you manually fill in your jobs and education etc. They then use this to figure out of you're a potential match for the job. Again, the logic in these is usually pretty basic - looking for a certain amount of experience and skills, primarily based on keywords.

I use an ATS for screening applications and I haven't had a single issue not being able to view an applicants CV. Web based ATS don't try to parse the CV they typically require the applicant to complete a set number of questions name, phone etc and include the CV as an attachment in whatever format it was submitted be that word, or pdf

Thanks for your replies, What would you recommend is the best way to get to the point where a person checks the my cv as bear in mind the industry I work in is just coming out of a massive down turn and there is probably literally 1000's of applicants world wide looking for the same position and most of the jobs are online applications.
    Cheers
