Gas boiler

    Hi.

We are looking into getting our gas boiler replaced. Some of the plumbers I have contacted say they do not recommend a power flush as it may damage an older system. The house is nearly 20 years old. They would recommend a chemical cleaner a few days before installation and then a clean flush on day of installation.

My question, is a power flush not the best practice always when installing a new boiler?

They probably either don't have time to do the power flush but want to change the boiler or they don't have the equipment to do the flush. A chemical flush is a con job because on a system with drops to downstairs radiators most of the cleaning chemicals are left in the system.
