Nantes in September?

    Hi all,
    Thinking of 4 nights departing around Sep 20... any reason not to at this time of year?

    Ideally i'd like to rent a car and spend 2 days driving up the Loire, with the possibility of over-nighting at a vineyard, or nearby... is this possible?

    Then 2 nights in Nantes itself.

    Regarding car hire, as we'd probably need to rent it from the airport (Plan would be Airport => 2 nights up the Loire => 2 nights Nantes => Airport), would we have any use for it in Nantes itself? I presume not. It would mean 2 days of the car just sitting there, but so what.

    Any recommendations much appreciated. We're early 30's, love architecture, drinking wine, roaming about, eating food, drinking wine, seeing new places, drinking wine, night-life (nothing too hectic, prefer little cute ruin bar types rather than heaving nightclubs), drinking wine :)
