We often hear that Jesus say that He was in prison and you visited Him in the Gospel.

But my question is.....does anyone actually go and visit prisoners such as priests if so who does it and how do you even approach that kind of ministry?

You could talk to these people: https://www.catholicireland.net/arbour-hill-prisoners-facilitate-course-on-christian-faith/

I believe they have an office in Gardiner Street and also do great work helping released prisoners to reintegrate into society.

Gordon Farrar (who apparently dated my mother at one time) started a Prison Ministry many years ago

Vincent Gannon seems to be coordinating this ministry now - It might be worth contacting him

In Northern Ireland there is https://www.pfni.org/

St Vincent de Paul do - my mate being a regular visitor. Talking seems to make up alot of it, getting small items they want into them, encouraging them in the event they want to ditch drugs and make an attempt to go straight once their out, liasing with help services for folk who are coming out of prison.

It helps if your a pragmatic type and are good at working around the red tape.
