Hi has anyone sat the Hibernia interview in the last few days and found they were really hard done by by those interviewing? I feel like I was asked questions in the Irish that were not on any type of prep and was not given the chance to speak on topics I was clearly prepared on, I was abruptly stopped each time. In the English interview the interviewer was not happy with any of my answers and made this opinion known and at the end when I voiced how upset and disappointed I was she corrected my grammar. I thought it was so disheartening and not encouraging at all. I have 4 years teaching experience in Dubai and they did not want to hear about any of this. I'm so upset by my whole experience.

Hibernia tends to accept most candidates , as money is a huge part of what they do, so I wouldn’t be panicking yet .
For future interviews , however , you need to be able to answer what you are asked , not what you prepped as for junior cert.

What kind of things did they ask you about that you weren’t expecting

I'll only comment on the Irish.

Basically, if you couldn't answer a question in Irish that you hadn't previously prepared from a script or something, then that shows the interviewer that you do not currently have a good enough grasp of the Irish language. You need a minimum standard - you will, after all, be expected to teach Irish (through Irish).
