I installed a triton t90sr about 18 months ago. It started to act up about a month ago. First the water was stone cold, and now it's way too hot. I've had the engineer from triton out, and he said it's due to limescale. He offered to fix it there and then. €90 for the callout and €70 for the part. I turned it down, I can buy a whole new shower for €199. Has anyone else had similar problems with their shower, or does anyone know how to rectify the problem without changing the whole unit??

I'm gobsmacked that you can buy a triton t90sr for 199. I buy 100 at a time and pay more.

You need to install a water softening system. I believe you will pay around 800 supplied & fitted but the average life span of your shower will go from a year to 10 years. You will get longer life span from your washing machine, dishwasher and hot press element. Also the running cost of all the above will be much less. A water softening system will pay for itself after 3 or 4 years in a really hard water area

Also I think you have parts & labour mixed up. Triton charge €70 labour
