New Connection & Road Opening Licence

    Hi,

As part of a design team for the department of education along with the builder we have applied for a new connection to the combined sewer in Dublin City centre for a primary school.

We are under pressure to complete and commission the building in time to get it listed on the building control register to allow it to be occupied before the end of August.

How long does it take Irish Water to issue the cost sheet? (we just received the confirmation of receipt of the application today).

Do we need to a separate Road Opening Licence from Dublin City Council or does IW issue this?

The sewer is already in place in the public road (~1.5m from site boundary), do we make the connection from the site to the existing sewer in the public road or does IW make the connection from the public road to the site boundary?

    I'd appreciate your urgent response.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your message.

We would encourage you to email our New Connections team directly, newconnections@water.ie, expressing the urgency of the connection requirements along with your application number, and a member of our team will be in touch with you shortly with a response.

Irish Water works in conjunction with sub contractors directly to apply for a Road Opening licence during the connection process which will be outlined in the cost sheet.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards,
    Micheal
