Should Chris & Ciara move from weekends to weekdays on 2fm?

They have been on 2fm's weekend lineup for a year now replacing Rick o' Shea

Do people here think they should replace any presenters on the 7am-7pm 2fm weekday lineup?

Or have they just not been able to recreate the magic of their night time show during the hours of 11am-1pm Saturday & Sunday?

Most people on here seem to comment only on Today FM & Radio 1 which makes me come to the conclusion that most people that post comments about Irish radio are 45+

    Can't stand either of them.
As soon as he says, "My name is Chris, and this wonderful woman here is Ciara", which is every 5 minutes, I switch over straight away.

Back to iradio for the 2 of them, if they'll take them back

I think they're great and anytime they fill in for any of the mon to fri slots I think they do a better job than the people they're filling in for.

That doesn't say much for the people they're filling in for so...

To be honest I was disappointed that they removed every good segment that they had on at night

Now it's just music & 2 competitions during their 2 hour show at weekends

No more fun movie reviews, RTE archives, trying to figure out dreams with Michael murphy, all the fun stuff we enjoyed at night!

The weekend show is a bare bones version of the 10pm nightly show

They should move them somewhere I'm less likely to hear them.

Is it worth moving from a station like iRadio to 2fm?

The price of renting alone would be huge for the year in Dublin

I know Nicky Byrne is on 200k a year in 2fm but I am sure the pay scale for everybody else there is nothing like that

The show they're doing right now is so mind numbingly bland, that it wouldn't be out of place on weekday afternoons on most commercial stations.

It's short term pain for long term gain.. 2fm is a step up from a regional station and pulls you in under the RTE umbrella. If a show does well, it'll give you a nationwide profile and potentially pave the way to better things.

I suppose getting a nationwide profile is what it's all about

If you get the sack from 2fm you will get another gig on a regional station no problem

I miss their 10pm slot, I'm a 3d artist and love listening to podcasts while i work. Their night show was a nice change of pace a few times a week from the usual podcasts I listen to, It had a free flowing podcast vibe to it with decent music through out not to mention it was just a good laugh. Their weekend show is absolute ****e, generic radio structure with a cheesy backing track and cheesy 10yr old pop music, the likes of Beyonce put a ring on it. It's a real shame to see what they've become through no fault of their own, 10pm was just too late to generate the numbers. I'd like to see them take Tracy clifford's spot, I think she's the weak link of the weekday lineup, her show's not awful but it's fairly boring. I think the smarter move when they axed their 10pm slot instead of sending them to weekends would of been to swap slots with Louise McSharry.

We all enjoyed their 10pm weeknight show so much, I just don't think it's in their DNA to transfer the magic of their 10pm show to 11am

Ray Foley could do it, Chris & Ciara cannot do it

(Unless their hands are tied by what management want them to do at weekends)

8pm weeknights would be a great move

I cannot understand why they moved Rick O' Shea from his 11am weekend slot to replace him with Chris & Ciara doing a worse show than him!

I cant see anybody in the weekday 2fm lineup leaving anytime soon so C&C are stuck where they are for a bit.

But to be honest they don't deserve to replace anyone on the weekday lineup if it's a copy of the weekend show they would broadcast Mon-Fri

They had no issues transferring the magic of their 10pm show to weekdays when they were filling in for someone. I think their current show is aimed at a different audience, an audience who just wants white noise in the car as they head to the shops on the weekend with the main goal being to flog a few competitions. It has a very corporate feel to it, I'm guessing their hands are tied creatively with it.

They are better when they are filling in for someone but the weekend show is 100 shows a year & that should be where they do their best work on 2fm

If their hands are tied they should be kicking down Dan Healy's door to let them do the show they want to produce.

Dave Fanning has free reign on his show & so should C&C
