I've a GPS tracker for my car that needs a SIM card for SMS/Data. There doesn't seem to be any well priced providers in Ireland, so I decided to order one of these https://www.1pmobile.com/

1p/min phone calls, 1p/text message and 1p/MB of data. Seems to be a pretty reasonable price, considering the tracker would use minimal data to upload the data and considering there is free roaming in the EU now (Hmm, Brexit.. didn't think of that actually), I feel like it should suit my application.

To set up the tracker, you need to text it commands and such, so that can be achieved for free with Vodafones webtexts, so that's not a problem.

Can anyone think of any reason why this wouldn't work here or something I've overlooked?

    Thanks.

Short term it probably will work but they are likely to cut you off if you only/mainly use it for roaming.

    Eir PAYG broadband SIM
    2c per MB
    https://www.eir.ie/mobile/broadband/prepay/
(Scroll down to out of bundle charges)

SMS 15c for outbound. Does tracker need to send SMS?

It does, but only for set up so I suppose the SMS charges aren't too important after the initial set up. I'll look into it.

    Thanks
