How much per m2 should I expect to pay for laying asphalt, including the preparatory groundwork?

Probably e20 sq metre for 50mm sma nowadays. Paid 15 5 years ago when lads weren't as busy. Machine laid is better than raked

Is there any advantage to using asphalt instead of tarmac for driveway and area surrounding a residential house where the only heavy traffic is likely to be an oil lorry once a year and possibly a tractor for de-sludging the septic tank every few years? Also is tarmac more likely to unravel if subject to oil spillage.?
When a contractor refers to “asphalt “ is he likely to mean stone mastic asphalt or sma?
