The land is already effectively this, a business incubation centre (Streetview), and it has done nothing of note to date. Siphoning some fresh State cash to it may get something out of it, maybe.

Sounds like they just want water way frontage, Isnt The Innovation Hub in the Liberties the same thing? or am i mistaken. Except that doesnt have Canal Frontage.

Don't see the big deal, they should be able to do whatever they want with their own land. As regards the state contribution, well Im sure they consider it a good investment for creating future jobs and prosperity or else they wouldn't contribute ..and it'll also bring more life to area of the docks , probably create some nice pedestrian space and have nicer buildings replace those sad little dark brick buildings

Can't see how this would be a bad thing. That site was always full of start ups and stuff set up by ex TCD students. Or at least it was about 15 years ago anyway. I guess they are just expanding it and putting in better facilities. Sounds like a great idea for the area, it's a bit of a dead zone down there.

That’s a statement not supported by fact.
