Dog Bed Recommendations

Looking for some dog bedding or dog bed recommendations. I have four of the smaller type Labradors - field trial type.

We have a large back garden and they go out there a lot so they often come in soaking and dirty. Therefore I need something that is durable and I think washable.

In the past, we've bought lovely beds but it hasn't taken long for a smelly, wet, dirty dog to render them unuseable in the house.

Would appreciate any recommendations from online.

What about a water proof bed and some durable bedding?

    This bed is water proof while providing comfort;

Vet bed maybe? It'll wick away any moisture and is extremely durable and can take a hot wash. Get a dark colour to hide the dirt :D

I bought a HiK9 bed 3 months ago after getting sick of replacing other dog beds

    www.hik9.com

I got the extra large bed in mesh with the "luxury" reversible pad plus heavy duty feet.

    Positives:
The mesh is easy to keep clean + can be hosed down and dry quickly.
    The mesh doesn't hold smells.
Very sturdy with my 48 ish Kg dog bouncing on to it.
Good for dogs joints since it's a raised camp style bed so no hard ground to create pressure sores etc.
Helps keep the dog cool when not using a mattress on top.

    Negatives:
Cost, it's on the pricey side imo (aldi/lidl did a similar bed a few months ago but no idea of their quality)
The heavy duty feet which are wider to prevent the legs sinking in the ground or sliding indoors on tiles etc. should be included in the price and appear pretty standard to me for such a product.
The reversible pad...I've a lot of issues with this, it's sown closed so difficult to wash once it gets smelly + overpriced compared to other ones you can get of same or better quality.

Overall I'd recommend the bed but get a separate light vetbed blanket or similar ( i got a few for around 20 euro on zooplus which are perfect and machine washable). Size wise I think two regular sized labs would fit on the extra large size bed.

I have 2 hi-k9's left (sold 2) - I had to change the main one in the sitting room to a proper orthopaedic bed because it was hurting Bailey to step up onto it. I've one out in the garden 4-5 years and while it's a little bit rusty in spots is still going strong! Oddly enough he's taken to lying on that one sometimes in the garden the last few months when he never wanted to before lol! The other one is upstairs as a stepping stone on and off the bed lol. When we used the one in the sitting room I had a strip of vet bed on it

    Hi OP,

I have a 10 year old Labrador, after years of buying crap beds and getting fed up replacing them I bought him the following bed from Zooplus. It's honestly the best bed I've ever bought as it retains its shape, does not flatten out and is really easy to wipe clean too. It's advertised as outdoors but I just put his favorite blanket over it to keep him warm.

I can't post links but if you search for the following on zooplus.ie it will come up.

    Outdoor Memory Foam Bed
    - 100 x 70 x 12 cm (L x W x H)

+1 for the Hi canine bed. Frames are very strong. You might have to replace the canvas covering every couple of years if your dog 'digs' in it

+1 for the HiK9 bed. My 2 have been known to be on it at the same time. XXL size, 1 36 KG Rottie and 1 24KG Nottie.
Well worth the money, we have the reversible pad on it too 3 years and still going strong.

This is what I have got mine. We live in the countryside and they often come in destroyed. These beds are comfy and wipe clean:

hIk9 type, easy to clean, good for hot spots, and our lab loves it, add a blanket etc if need in colder weather
