    Hello,

    I've been reading through the threads here on this, and I'm wondering has there been any changes since the ECJ ruling?

    As well I'm wondering has anyone any experience with Meath CC?
    Persons who have spent substantial periods of their lives, living in rural areas as members of the established rural community for a period in excess of five years and who do not possess a dwelling or who have not possessed a dwelling in the past in which they have resided or who possess a dwelling in which they do not currently reside;

    Persons who were originally from rural areas and who are in substandard or unacceptable housing scenarios and who have continuing close family ties with rural communities such as being a mother, father, brother , sister, son, daughter, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law of a long established member of the rural community resident rurally for at least ten years;

    I've never owned a house.
    I wasn't born in the area, and I'm not currently working in the locality, but I did grow up and go to school there etc, do I have any hope of obtaining planning permission?

    I'd be looking to build near to the family home if that makes any difference/

    I have heard they had relaxed slightly in Meath recently. The planners are decent enough in my experience. Organise a pre-planning meeting armed with local needs info and some brief outlines of what you want to do. Oh and stick with the Meath Rural Design guide. But do enter that pre-planning with as much info as you can muster.

    Are you the only son/daughter to apply near the family home?
