    Hey everybody,

Was hopeing I could get a little help with wiring a replacment digital timer for my old analogue one. The previos is an apt timer. The new one is an Eph R17 single zone. The apt has live in, live out and neutral. The Eph is confusing. I have the wiring diagram. I just need to figure out how to upload a photo of the diagram. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ive been a user since 2012 and boards wont let me post an image.

    Connect all neutral to N
    Connect live in to L
    Connect live out to 4

Put in a link wire between L and 1

Obviously make sure power is off.

Please note the replacement timer is not suitable for loads greater than 3A, such as an immersion. Whereas the Apt timers are generally rated for 16A.

Thanks for letting me know. I have it as a timer for a gas boiler. Ill have to admit ignorance here. I bought it from a plumming specialists in Cork, they said it would be fine. I dont know what amps the circuit is. Would it be a case of referring to the boilers manual to find out?

It’s suitably rated for a gas boiler so you’re fine.

Hi OP, I’m looking to replace an APT timer too, how has the new timer been since you put it in last week? Would you recommend it? Did you go for the RF one with WiFi?

Hey, its hard to give a good idea as we havent been using the heating for a while. But i like it, loads of functionality over the apt. The one i put in is bog standard, 1 zone, no wifi. But it will do exactly what i want it to. 0 noise fromnit of course being digital compared to the whirring of the apt. I would say if your thinking about it, just do it. So far, it seems great.
