So yesterday I noticed a blackbird hopping around in the back garden staying close to the walls under the bush. today that same blackbird was lying down next to my turtle cage not making any noise and when I came near it tried to hop away but it could bearly use it's legs or one of it's wings so I put it into a clothes basket in the shade with some water and one of the fatballs that I usually hand up out there it drank a lot but won't eat and only sits in the bowl of water. Does anyone know any way to help this little bird. Maybe some food I can give it instead of the fatballs or any info on what to do at all would be great!

Keep it quiet and dark; food matters far less than water. Maybe the heat and your precious kind bowl of water is just perfect. He will eat when he is ready.

Try some berries - they love fruit and it has high water content as well which will help rehydrate.

Fat balls are good for winter when birds need plenty of calories to stay warm, but they don't provide much nutrition outside of the cold weather.
