Orange/yellow colour I presume if it's not sparkling it's not a star so is it Mars?

    International Space Station?

It's not moving. I've seen ISS before with binoculars.

Mars is to the south, low on the horizon right now. Also, just because it's not sparkling doesn't mean something isn't a star. Both stars and planets will appear to sparkle as the light emitted from them passes through our atmosphere.

Confirmed it's Mars you can download SkyView free if you have a mobile and just point it at the planet you want to identify and it will tell you what it is.

    Chinese Lanterns?

Once I lit a Chinese lantern in my back garden. It lifted about 12 feet into the air, drifted over the hedge and decided to descend into my neighbours tree.

Had to run around, knock on his door and tell him that his tree was potentially on fire.
