    Hope i have the correct forum. Long story short is I have a friend that was in the middle of building my website for me but he is now off on holidays and didnt get it finished on time. Now my site just shows as a blank page.

    All im looking for is for my website to show a one picture saying the site is currently off line and heres my contact details.
    I have access to the hosting company and i do believe he was using wordpress but im hitting brick walls trying to use them both.

    is there any simple way of making my website show just one picture?
    Any help appreciated thanks.

    Save this to a file called index.html and change the image source to whatever it should be
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <body>
    <img src="yourimage.jpg">
    <br><br><br>
    Website is under construction - for queries please call me on 085 123 4567
    </body>
    </html>

    Log in to your hosting and rename any index.html file there to e.g. index.html.old and then just upload the above file plus your image

    Assuming you have some knowledge of FTP and website structures.

    Easiest program to use would be FileZilla

    https://filezilla-project.org/

    As above, log in to your site (you should have the username password).

    I'd create a new index file one and rename the old one just in case. (index.old).

    ^ fritzelly already said to do this.

    Need your FTP details
    https://help.blacknight.com/hc/en-us/articles/212522789-Where-do-I-find-my-FTP-details-

    Program like verycool mentioned above.
    You log into your website with the FTP details, navigate to your root directory and follow my instructions above.

    You can do it through the file manager in the Blacknight control panel.

    Using an "under construction" plugin might be easiest.
    There could already be one installed.
    This puts a holding page with what ever image / text you want and can stay in place until your site goes live.
    If you know what you are doing only takes 10 mins.
