Amazon UK return with Parcel Motel

    Hi All,

I've done a search but can't find the correct answers.

I bought something from Amazon UK, which is fufilled by themselves. They have issued me Royal Mail tracked 48 Return labels. I am unsure how to use these correctly with Parcel Motel.

I've seen people mention Collect+ and I can see that in the dropdown but I cannot see Amazon UK in the drop down for parcel motel.

    Any ideas?

I returned something to Amazon in an Irish post office with the prepaid Royal Mail label. Drop into your local post office and ask them or get onto the Amazon live chat and they can help. I see no reason to use Parcel Motel.

Contact Amazon, tell them you're in Ireland and they will usually reimburse postage paid.

    Live chat them

As far as I can remember when I had to return a package to Amazon I just attached the printed return details and posted it via my local Post Office.

If you're still unsure, the PO will let you know or Amazon customer service themselves.

This exact thing happened me twice a few weeks ago.  In the first instance I was returning a product I didn't like.   Amazon are no longer supporting Collect+ as you found out.  So I simply contacted them on chat and explained I am in the South and so can't use the Royal Mail labels.  They gave an address in Scotland to return to.  I had to follow up though because a week later no refund was coming but the guys on chat issued it once I got onto them.  Of course I had to pay for the return as it was simply a change of mind.
In the second instance it was a faulty product, worth about 25 euro, and again I got onto them about the Royal Mail labels.  They simply created a new order and send out a replacement and asked me to destroy the original.

I found Amazons chat service to be excellent.

Rang Parcel Motel, they told me to select Royal Mail from the drop down and they deliver to Royal Mail office in Belfast. It's their roundabout way to get a parcel with Royal Mail prepaid labels back into their network.

If you get in touch with Amazon (strange that Amazon support wasn't your first port of call), explain that you're in the south they'll issue An Post prepay labels.

Only issue with an post is if it's say a phone or tablet, they will not return it but yet have no issue delivering here????

I understand lithium batteries but why one way and not the other.

Probably trucked in to Ireland, but flown back out.

The sending postal service/consigner is responsible for HAZMAT controls, AnPost don't give two hoots on inbound stuff as its RM/Lufthansas problem not theirs.

As the thread was about Amazon, I was talking about it being trucked into Ireland for An Post delivery. Any postal service would have the same problems trying to fly Lithium batteries, as they are Dangerous Goods.

Thats why I gave up on the Parcel Motel one. I don't want two labels on my item which might cause confusion.
