Hi, a friend of mine is getting married and I'd like to crochet some wedding favors for her as a surprise, hearts with the date etc on the , like little coasters. I'd need to do about 300.....my question is if someone gave you wedding favors like this would you be pleased or annoyed? (It's not their wedding gift, I'll buy a decent present/give money also)

I think it'd be a lot of trouble and may not suit the intended decor or theme.
I certainly wouldn't do it without asking first.

She might love the idea but maybe run it by her first to be sure .

I think its a lovely idea & I would want to want it but I really think it wouldn't be for me. I just don't like namey, datey things.
And I also think it would be a lot of work for you to go to when the items could just get lost in the tidy up after the meal.
Would you consider instead something like a little cushion for the rings to be presented on?
Or maybe something pretty to drape over the backs of the chairs the bride & groom will sit on in the church or at the reception.

Thank you, that's a great idea.

I also don't think it's a great idea. It's a lot if effort, guests may not appreciate it and she may have planned her own meaningful favour.
A similar crocheted gift as a wedding present would be lovely however, like someone said- a ring cushion, or wall hanging or shawl or a cover for a wedding album would be something lovely to treasure.

Thank you all for the replies, I was doubting it myself, like you all said it would be a lot of work and could possibly not be welcomed. Thank you also for the ideas, a ring cushion, or wedding album cover would be a much better choice.

It's a nice idea, but it could be stepping on her toes if she already has her own wedding favours planned. Or she might be the type who doesn't actually want wedding favours - most weddings I've been to in recent years they're either absent or a charitable donation has been made instead.

Also from a guests perspective, for such a huge amount of effort/money, most of these will just get left behind or stuffed in the back of a drawer never to be seen again. It's really not going to mean anything to anyone other than the bride and groom.
