Looking at the number of job announcements in the last few weeks - which is great news for the region!

Is it not time that the people within the 5% unemployed are forced to take up employment or a Community Employment Scheme?

From what I can see, all who want to work are working.... and the rest of them are just laughing at us all..... rant over:mad:

Would they all be employable though? As in alcohol or drug addictions, literacy issues, obvious gaps in employment or just flip all skills?

Of course, most of them could. There are people with serious physical and mental disabilities holding down permanent jobs and they're not complaining, because they want to work and contribute to society.

Not without significant accommodation on the employers part there i.e the public sector for example. Not all of them are willing to do that.

What kind of jobs do people with serious mental disabilities have?

Sorry. Should have said 'as well as' instead of 'and' in the bolded part of the post.

There's still not a huge amount of jobs in Sligo though. It's comparable to places like Roscommon and Offaly. Not great!

Even looking at statistics there's not a huge upturn in things: https://sligojobs.ie/statistics?daterange=last-18-months&categories%5B%5D=03&categories%5B%5D=21&categories%5B%5D=15 (I chose these job categories randomly).
