Rte and tv3 news channel, ever?

    Will there ever be a chance of a joint irish news channel with tv3 group (soon virgin media) and RTÉ .
    Sure they would have existing news bullitens at
    12:30
    13:00
    17:30
    18:01
    19:00
    Soon 20:00
    21:00
    22:00
    Just a few extra bullitens would be needed in the morning and afternoon and sports bullitens.
    They would also show likes of prime time and other programmes
    Is this impossible or could it happen?

    I think this would be an excellent idea.
    News Now, after dropping the RTE branding.
    More than likely will never happen although it should be FTA on satellite, and would be an excellent way to serve the ex-pat community overseas.
    In addition to the news from RTE and TV3 and even TG4, there are shows such as "Tonight with Ivan & Matt", Primetime, The Pat Kenny Show.
    There are no shortage of material between both RTE and (soon to be ) Virgin Television.

    On the subject of news, Six One is much better this week with Ray Kennedy and keelan presenting. There seems to be a better on air chemistry between them.

    I am already thinking that I will miss the TV3 name. seeing the promos for the new re branded Virgin 1-2-3-sports makes me weep. What dreadful and loud Logo's they are. Hopefully they will be discreet with their "DOG" placement on screen.

    Surely this is completely unlikely and unecessary in the technological & social-media age in which we now live. I would not dream of going to RTE New Now for a breaking news story.
