The quality of them has really dipped since I got my first one, it lasted about 5 years, since it broke I've had 3 of them in the same space of time. They bought off Foreman some years ago, before that he was getting a few bob from the sale of each unit, perhaps he was keeping an eye on the quality back then :D

Totally agree. They don’t last much longer than a year for me.

Thanks must pick one up. Agree on the quality ours is about 7 years old and used several times a week I looked at a second one for our holiday home recently and found them to be much lighter and flimsier

I think it justs takes away all taste from the meat. Now consigned to the cupboard.

Quality has gone sh since the original
To clean, as has always been the case, wipe down immediately after cooking (while still at temp) with wet cloth.

This is valid till Wednesday 11th while stocks last.

I have one like that for the past few years. I find that when I use it to cook meat the smoke off it is crazy and you can’t get rid of the smell in the kitchen for ages. Pain in the backside to clean as well. The ones with removable plates and adjustable temp control are presumably much better but a lot dearer.

They do make lovely toasted sambos though, and for €20 you can’t really go wrong, definitely a bargain.

5 portions of what? I have one of these and it’s quite small.

I've got one with detachable plates that can go in the dishwasher.

I must check my older one to see if it removable

It's very obvious of they're removable. Sometimes they fall off...

You’re not wrong there, since I went to the air fryer the food is much better
For €20 this is alright for wraps and toasties though

As you say a good toasty/wrap maker for 20 euro.

I used to have a foreman and an actifry but then bought a large halogen cooker for 40 euro. Its really good for things that cant be done on the foreman and when you dont want to put on the kitchen oven. (e.g. Some chips and goujons for 1 or 2 children) Frozen meat, frozen chips, chicken in tin foil with seasoning, garlic bread, pizza. Its really good for reheating a sunday dinner or takeaways in 10 minutes - tastes just as good as cooked for first time.

They’re not removable. It’s the hinge that gets manky anyway.

How do you know what model the poster has ?
    They might have removable plates

Misread their post as “I must check my order”

Don't bother with it. Another piece of clutter in the kitchen.

There great. Burgers , sausages, chicken fillets, peppers, cougatetes , sandwiches does them all and no need for turning them. Use it daily.

I just find that everything that comes out of it is flavourless. But I suppose it's healthy.

Thanks Omega for that advice. I will check one out.

I use ours most days as well...

Pull out double the length in tin foil, fold in half, place in George foreman to check that the folded tin foil is long enough to reach the drip tray (cut to length if too long). Remove tin foil, heat up George foreman, then place the tin foil on the George foreman & place the food in between the top & bottom sheet of tinfoil & make sure the tin foil in going to allow any run-off land in the drip tray. Close lid & cook as normal.
Be extra careful opening the tin foil pocket as there will be trapped steam when you open it... Bin tinfoil once finished cooking - no cleaning unless you tear the tinfoil...

All the juices are dripped out of the meat, sausages, burgers etc..I don't see how seasoning will change that.
