Price differences for Office Home & Student 2016

Hi there, does anyone know why there are such massive prices differences for Office Home & Student 2016 for PC?

It varies alot, from €45 all the way up to €149 from microsoft store.

Should I be worried to buy cheap??

Well, one is for Mac, and the other is for windows, so watch out for that at least. Other than that, there's probably no difference. Whether it's a legit code is a different matter. I've no doubt that the code will work, but it's probably an OEM code or something.

If your college is eligible, I'd actually go with Office 365 University. It's €80 for a 4 year subscription, and includes 1TB on Onedrive (which will be great for backing up any files and projects). It's also for two PCs, so you can have two systems on the go at once.

And then there's the free options like OpenOffice/LibreOffice, but I don't know much about them personally.

If you are a student, it is actually free in pretty much every institution in Ireland/UK/Europe for the length of time you are enrolled in the institution.

You can download Office 365 onto a number of devices, including laptops/tablets as part of this plan.

Libre Office/Open Office are fine for basic tasks, just don't expect to write a thesis using it.

Just in case anyone is wondering about the 45 quid option, I bought it in the end, it's perfect. No problems at all.
