Saw two roadkill hedgehogs yesterday. Both were on sections of road where they must have wandered a long way to get there - walls on both sides for quite a distance. I assume the dry weather is making it hard for them to find food and causing them to travel further than usual?

If you have hedgehogs visiting your garden, some supplementary feeding might be a help during the drought. But no bread and milk please.

There are often more sightings of Hedgehog roadkill at this time of year. The young are dispersing and moving from the home territory of the mother.

Supplemented feeding, plus water, is always a good idea.

On the subject of Hedgehogs (and Rabbits, Foxs, Badgers etc.) how do they get water in weather like this?

With difficulty. They rely on standing water, pools, ponds and rivers. Water troughs in fields are often used.

Both road kills were large full grown animals:(
