Save text and whatsapp messages doing factory reset

    Hi I want to do a factory reset on a Samsung phone. What's the easiest way to save text and whatsapp messages if any. Thanks.

    Whatsapp you can backup to google drive and I use super backup for text/call logs/contacts. Pictures I have on a sd card

    Samsung have their own backup option for messages etc

    Settings > cloud and accounts > backup and restore > Samsung Account > back up data.

    You should be using the cloud for all of your photos (Google Photos/Dropbox/OneDrive whatever).

    Thanks for the fast response lads. You're dealing with a tech virgin so bear with me. There's no room on the phone so can I back up to a lap top. There's also Viber messages can these be saved.
    It's not my phone so how likely am I to make a bags of this :-)
    A link to a tutorial would be great if such exists. I've tried googling but ended up more confused.
