What is going on here? Not sure how to read the situation

So story is, went to a shop on Monday, buy something (involving leaving personal details etc like name, address phone number and emails for purpose ease of future repeat purchase without the need to re-enter details and for getting newsletter, etc).

Anyway, got a text on today expressing thanks (opposite sex) and to get in touch for any help I may need from what it appears to be a personal mobile number (Could also be from a work mobile but I'm not sure on that front).

Is this just a new way of doing a more personalise repeat business (I have no problem with it by the way) or is there something more behind it?

I'm not sure what to make of the situation and just curious what others think.

I get texts from mobile numbers with appointment reminders/thank you's from my GP, beauticians, hairdressers, garage, garden centre etc.

Some are automated and some are not.

    It doesn't mean anything.

I would imagine it's marketing, nothing more.

Text back and say thanks for the great service and hope to be in again... and see what happens. Something similar happened to me but it was definitely to get a date (but this was 6/7 years ago).

Reminders yes, have plenty of those especially delivery.

The others you mentioned, i have to say that i have never come across those.

Definitely not automated but yeah probably doesn't mean anything either.
