    I plan to spread about 60 tone of lime this year. Which will cost about 1400e to spread on all 40 acres. Is this money well spend as it seems like a lot of money to be spending every 2/3 years, given that there isn't such a good return in sheep.

    I did the same last year and spread the lime. Found it made a significant difference to the place. The grass now comes earlier in the year and the place doesn’t look a sickly yellow green anymore. It will last 5 years and not two. Also releases lot of p&k’s and locked up nitrogen into the soil and pays for itself.
