VPN on Pure Telecom router?

Just got an LG smart tv but can't access the BBC iPlayer /utv/ch4 catch up apps. So I've been googling and setting up a VPN seems the way to go but it won't work on smart tv cos it uses webOS.
My broadband is with Pure so is it possible to put vpn on the router (Technicolor TG588v v2).
Is it difficult? And will that allow me to use those catch up apps?

    Easy peasy.

I use a SmartDNS service as the DNS can be applied at the router. I'm not sure how you'd handle/access a VPN on the Technicolor. I use VPN but its on a per. client basis. In any event, Smart DNS Proxies are faster than VPNs for that kind of thing.

    Try

    SmartDNSProxy
    SmartyDNS
    Unlocator

Ive trialled all three and used SmartyDNS for a while then moved on to SmartDNDProxy. Never had a problem.

So long as you have Admin access to the router, and DNS Service will work for you on the TG588V. The secret is to attach the DNS to the DHCP service so that when a DHCP client seeks an IP Address, it'll get both an IP address and a Smart DNS from the server. That way, you never have to go near the individual devices, so long as they're set up to take all their DNS information from that DHCP service.

Some devices such as Google Chromecast are a mare to change their DNS, as they're hard-coded to 8.8.8.8 by Google. If your Smart TV is set up like that, you may have an issue. Can you post your exact LG Smart TV model and Ill have a look.

Both the Smarty and SmartDNSProxy also provide a client accessible VPN as part of the package.
