I bought this for my son online and when it arrived it said 'original screenplay' on the front, and its laid out in play format.

Did I buy the wrong one? I was assuming a novel would arrive.

So the film was inspired by a textbook format book that Rowling released in 2001. However the screenplay of Fantastic Beasts was released about two years ago, it was very popular with Potter fans of all ages. The textbook version is available on Amazon but can't link to it due to my post count.a

Thanks, I ordered the textbook version.

Might give my son the screenplay version afterwards, or else throw into a charity shop.
