Not a great pic but there's a few of these "burrows" in my back garden.

Possibly one of the Wolf Spiders.

Hmmm big boys. Any danger to cats?. Or are cats more dangerous to them lol?. One of them eats anything that moves, especially spiders.

Could it be a Lace Web/Weaver Spider, Amaurobius similis. Pop a fly beside it and 'tickle' it with a blade of grass and see what happens.....

:D No. Neither is any risk to the other.

Could be, I have had lace webs around my back door not too long ago. I might go David Bellamy on the burrows tomor see if I can coax a little fella out. Had a Zebra spider in the bathroom today too and have bats that fly around me and the neighbours back yards every night. I live in an estate, amazing the things you can see when you stop and look. Don't need to be out in the sticks.
