The breaker for my immersion tripped & won't reset even though the immersion is turned off ? Is this an earth leakage before the switch ?

Hard to know without seeing it. It could be faulty breaker. Is there anything else on the circuit like a spur or something?

Pull it fully down and then try pushing it back up

Thanks everyone. Turned out to be a faulty timeswitch.
