Any one have any luck getting compensation from Blue air for a delayed flight. Iwas on a flight for Cluj Napoco Romania to Dublin on June 22, it was delayed 8.5 hrs due to a mechanical failure. I contacted them on their website and they offered me a free flight which i declined. Any tips on getting them to pay up without using a 3rd party collection site that charges 25 percent plus vat

Re-contact stating that a delay due to mechanical failure is not considered outside of the airlines control or an extraordinary circumstance; and that you are entitled to €400 compensation under Regulation 261/2004 and Bock vs Air France

If you don't specify the 261 rules most airlines try bat it away thinking you're not aware of them

That is all a commission-seeker site will actually do for you.

I saw that flight on the departure board when I was on the way to Bucharest – my sympathies.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

Yes I quoted the SI 261 in all my correspondence to them. I give them a bit then log a complaint as per the aviationreg.ie
