Mortgage question

    Hi

This may be a strange question but a number of years ago I bought a car for a discounted price with the idea of it appreciating as it got older. This meant me using my savings to pay for the car but fast forward a few years and it's time to start getting my affairs in order for a mortgage. What I'm asking is if I sell this car now and have a lodgement to my savings account how does this look in terms of savings etc for a deposit for a mortgage? Does it "count" as such or is the one lodgement of a sum of cash look bad.

    Cheers
