I see them at the Luas in Sandyford , both the FCP and the normal ones: they seem to be there a long time, certainly one guy is leaving it overnight

How long is a piece of string?
If the user has the chademo adapter it can charge between 37-45kW . The batteries range from 60kWh to 100kWh. 45kW to a 100kWh battery is well over 2 hours for a "fast" charge from empty.

If he's using the AC he can get 11kW, 16kW, or 22kW, depending on the year and what charger is fitted onboard.

So yeah, it could take a couple of hours. But if it's charging on 11kW AC and it's a 85/90/100kWh model it could legit take 8-12 hours.

Thanks, was just wondering as some are staying long enough for seagulls to nest!

Yeah they shouldn't be using an FCP for hours that's taking the proverbial.
