TV3 to rebrand as Virgin Media One, Two, Three & Sport

Looks like the end of an era for an Irish brand as Virgin announced it is rebranding TV3 as Virgin Media One, Two, Three and Virgin Media Sport.

Will the BAI allow TV3 to be turned into a cross promotional platform for Virgin Media cable though?

Also Virgin Media Sport, unlike Eir Sport, initially appears to be planned to be for Virgin TV customers only.

They won't be given much choice, accept the rebrand, or let it close dopwn

    End of an era?

    Come on FFS.

The Marathon bar being rebranded as Snickers, now that was the end of an era.

Still only going to be in SD on Saorview "because of the broadcasting fees for HD on Saorview" according to the interview on The Last Word yesterday.

It is long past the time that the minimum space on Saorview a broadcaster can get is for a HD channel.

To be fair it is the end of an Irish brand that dates back almost 20 years at this stage and it's being replaced by a rather bland corporate name that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue either.

    "Virgin Media One" (barf)

Oh yay. So some channels will be Virgin exclusive, and some will be Eir exclusive. And both will probably have exclusive sports content, meaning you have to switch cable/internet providers to watch both? (Is there a way to have both, even if you wanted to?)

I WANT to pay for the content I watch, but with this, it's very, very hard not to say to hell with this and just use an illegal stream.

Not to mention that you can't even get Virgin cable in many areas, including the odd part of the cities that are skipped over for various historical reasons, and they couldn't be bothered filling in.

Also Eir Sport's not exclusive on Eir. It's also carried on Sky and Vodafone TV

It looks like Virgin Sport will be only on Virgin Media.

So whens the next increase on the bills to pay for this.

The rebranding of TV3 and others, it's a nice little earner for some graphics company that,s all.The same programming from ITV and no Saorview HD

As long as there’s still 14 hours of Tipping Point a day, I’m okay.
