Running low on space on Samsung J5, does 'clear cache' help free up memory space?

I am getting notification on my Samsung J5 that it is getting low on space.

It has an 8GB internal memory, with a 32 GB SD card installed.

I have tried moving some apps over from the phone memory to the SD card, but sometimes still get the 'Insufficient Storage' warning pop up.

I have now tried 'clear cache' on all my apps installed as a last resort.

Does 'clear cache' free up internal phone memory?

    Thank you :)

The warnings come from your 8Gig internal. With such a small internal it would be hard to keep this below the threshold to stop getting the warnings. All you can do is make sure all your downloads and pics are auto stored on the sd card. Clearing the cache will only buy you some time and space but in the long run it's impractical - you really need a phone with more internal space. Delete apps you don't use often is about all you can do and move the ones that can be moved over to the SD. This strategy won't work forever though so if you don't want to buy a new phone your just going to have to delete less important apps.

Your problem was that you went from one rubbish phone to another.

Perhaps an iPhone is the right choice for you after all ;)
