We are looking for a larger than Normal diamond ring for our wedding, between 1.5-2 carat. We already know this Is pretty rare and going to be expensive, but we were hoping to find a good deal at least. Are there any shops in Dublin that might be good?

    I don't think it's rare.
I do think people shop abroad to find value in diamonds.

Most shops might not have a huge choice of 1.5-2ct engagement rings in stock, but they'll certainly make one up for you.
Find a style that suits and give them an idea of your budget. They can look for a stone in your specified size with whatever quality is available for that price.

Is there a reason it has to be a 1.5-2ct diamond? Some different cuts can "look bigger" than they are (as carat is a measurement of weight). Or you could get a halo around a centre stone that gives the appearance of a large centre stone.

I work in a workshop for a Dublin city centre jeweller which I obviously won't name, but the vast majority of what we make up is custom engagement rings. Customers pick out a style they like and we remake it in their finger size / metal choice / stone size, or if they don't see a style they like, we design something else that suits and stones are chosen to fit their budget.

Mine is a 1.9 Solitaire and we got it in Voltaire.I'd highly recommend Seamus and his team.

I know one online store https://lalaserengraving.com/diamond-rings/wide-diamond/ with a huge variety of diamond and not ony rings. I ordered there rings for my wedding. My only advice is don't mess with a ring size. Also after delivery check if everything is okay. PS they have reasonable prices for the highest quality.

Under their Engagement Ring section your only choices are Cubic Zirconia and Moissanite. Not diamond.
Moissanite in it's natural form is a mineral or else is lab created. But not a diamond.
