Can anyone give me some advice on accessing walking trails around Meath.I am not driving so I will be needing to get to Meath by public transport , so any walks or woods that wouldn't be too far from a bus. (Coming from Dublin)

Hmm there's Balrath Woods near Kentstown! But unsure if there are bus services.

Or how about Dalgan Park? You can get the 109 to right outside the door, albeit you have to cross what can be a very busy road.
